Ella's Way - promoting tolerance at an early age
Ella's Way - promoting tolerance at an early age

Intolerance is a learned behavior for which there is no cure, only prevention.  To address this problem our speaker has developed a brilliant early age visual learning book series and education program called “Ella’s Way” that promotes tolerance for diversity and disability with preschool and early grade learners.  Ella is an acronym for “Early Learning Leads to Acceptance”.  The learning objective is life-long acceptance of differences, which is the key to tolerance and bullying prevention.

This effective and fun program was created by Sherry Cerino of North Andover, a senior nurse at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital where she has witnessed first-hand the effects of disability discrimination.  “Ella’s Way” has an objective that young children grow up to be tolerant and compassionate teenagers and adults.

Sherry is an inspiring speaker whose message of acceptance and inclusion resonates with audiences of all ages.  Her books are chock full with charming characters and their stories, each representing a form of being different and common subjects for discrimination.

Sherry Zentner Cerino received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Syracuse University School of Nursing, as well as advanced certification in Leadership, Process Improvement and Nonprofit Management.  Ms. Cerino has practiced nursing for over 30 years, caring for patients in a variety of hospital and community settings including Pediatrics, Maternal Child Health, Intensive Care, Long Term Care, Special Needs and Rehabilitation.  She has worked with many culturally diverse children and adults with medical needs and disabilities, developing her strong passion for respect and tolerance of differences.
